Don't do it.

Dont do the lis surgery there is a high risk that it will fail. My crs told me that colostomy was the only and safest way to go. And just read here how many failures there are. But people was afraid of having colostomy done and would rather live with "pain". Well sorry folks but then you dont have alot of pain. Not beeing negative here just realistic.

I think its wrong to write things like this. LIS has a high success rate, and is a relative small operation. Im pretty sure your CRS is alone in his viewpoint. A colostomy bag is not a walk in the park, and not considered a treatment for fissures.

This pain is not a walk in the park. My anal muscle is not thight either. Compared to now colostomy will be a walk in the park. And i thrust my crs and i also know other with colostomy and they never had a problem. Sorry if people here dont like what i just wrote but that is what forums are for.

If your muscle isn't too tight, the LIS most likely isn't for you.

As for the rest of your statements, I dissagree.

Uumm...hurt like hell!

You might notice that those here who have had LIS and are still here are in the minority. The others THOUSANDS who have had the surgery have f***k*d off and are getting on with their lives.

I have neither had nor do I intend to have LIS, but blanket condemnations do not do anyone any good. A personal opinion is great, telling people not to do something simply because of the words of a single surgeon, is not.

Just for the avoidance of doubt I had LIS in May 2012 and it was the best decision i have ever made. My life is back to normal and i have not had any problems since the day of surgery.

Providing you have the right surgeon and you follow his advice then the risk is minimal.

Davo! I loved your diary! And I have to second all the comments. LIS was the right choice for me, too. Don't regret it a bit.

I'm glad I didnt read this 4 weeks ago, right before my surgery. I was very nervous about the whole thing, but now I realize that it was NOTHING to worry about. I'm finally on the road t recovery, and feeling alot better than I did before surgery.
LIS might not be the option for everybody, but even if it woudnt have worked for me, I'm still glad I did it. No regrets whatsoever.

Sadly, people often write about their bad experiences in here, because it is a SUPPORT FORUM. If people have LIS, and it works(witch it does in most cases), they go on with their lives and try to forget about the hellish pain they've been through..
