Meds - Slow Healers

Postby Lloyd31 » 04 May 2015, 17:42

So I may have Peri-Anal Crohns

What I would like to know is what meds people have been taking/using to help and their effect

I'm now on a cocktail of Drugs Daily

Lanzoprol for Stomach
Ranitidine for Stomach
mesalazine not sure what this does
Codeine phosphate to harden stools
Donperidone for Bile
Prednisolone Sodium Phosphate
steroid for slow healing surgery fissure wounds
Also Scheriproct ointment

I also have glyceryl trinitrate ointment but I avoid using this as it gives me really bad headaches

I am not very good at taking medication and don't believe they are doing anything to make me feel better as I still feel crap when taking them

I really worry that I am pumping all these chemicals into my body and just because my CRS has no idea what to do to help me.

Any words of advice?

That is a LOT of medication. Do you have an actual diagnosis? You say you "may" have perianal Chrons

I'm no doctor but if I were you I would get a second opinion as soon as possible

Wow! Sorry to hear you have been through the ringer on this. What about seeing a gastroenterologist?
Dec '13 Fissure from anoscope
3 X internal sphincter botox
'08-'15 Botox for pelvic floor dysfunction
Nov '14 LIS/sentinel tag removal
Feb '15 Deroofing of recurrent infection from LIS
summer '15-healed but still ongoing muscle dysfunction/pain

Be careful with the codeine - how much are you taking daily?

It can constipate you quite badly making everything worse - if suggest adding more fibre into your diet
Suffering since June 2013

Methods tried:
GTN cream - migraines!
Manuka Honey / Coconut oil / Aloe
tag excision X 2, botox x 3
Dilatiazem
dilatation 2 X daily + Retin-C Vitamin Scar Treatment Oil 2 X daily - best thing ever.
Now pain free 2/7/21

What are you eating and drinking? Give us your daily routine so someone can provide some advice.

I've never had nutritional advice...

I eat eggs for breakfast

I avoid tomatoes peppers and dairy

I eat rice or mainly meat and small amounts of veg and potato

Don't each much...
