Shall I keep trying with ointments?

is there still a chance to heal by using creams and diet?

As i want to play it safe, i think i will stay with them for at least 4 months. my next appointment is in March 2015, so I will keep them until i see the doc again.

Thank you for you support already.

I've had to stop creams - I've got a horrid rash. but coconut oil was nice before I had to stop.
Suffering since June 2013

Methods tried:
GTN cream - migraines!
Manuka Honey / Coconut oil / Aloe
tag excision X 2, botox x 3
Dilatiazem
dilatation 2 X daily + Retin-C Vitamin Scar Treatment Oil 2 X daily - best thing ever.
Now pain free 2/7/21

Hi All,

I am back again after two minor recurrences. One was in February and another one today, after 4 months. And this one was from a whole apple, I am 100% sure of this (I always peel of apple skin, but on Sunday I did not have the means to do it so I ate it whole, figuring after 4 months I must have healed completely).

Guys, I never could have imagine that a fissure can take so long to heal, now I am wondering if it will ever heal on its own. I mean, I am talking about 4 full months without any issues (still taking Hydro-C daily)!

Is there anyone that healed for good, without surgery? And I mean, healed for more than 2 years let's say, so it is for sure.
I just don't want to experience learned helplessness ever in my life.

Hi Abu, most people who are fully healed have moved on, and don't visit this site any more. Unfortunately this means we never get those kinds of encouraging posts.
You could try looking in the "success stories" section.
If your recurrences are minor, I think you will be totally fine one day. Fissures need more time and patience to heal than you could ever imagine.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

I tried looking in success stories but so far I was only able to find people saying they are healed after a few weeks or days. I am sorry to say it but I do not believe this means "healed".
Is there someone that healed more than 2 years ago and never had any recurrence? These are the type of stories we need to follow, but I guess you are right, they never come back to tell this after so much time, which is a pity...
