I think it's definitely worth it to travel, even with the fissure. When I've travelled with the fissure (including a 12 hour bus ride when it was very chronic and very painful), everything has worked out A-OK. I've always been glad I went, and I've always learnt, after going, that it's not really so bad. I think that's because when we're at home, we think about it more and try harder to stay in our comfort zone. When we move out of that zone a bit and get busy with life, we realize that we still CAN get busy with life, like other people! Just be sure to take your painkillers and I think you will be fine.
I also have swam with the fissure and it has been fine, I found it a bit relaxing because the water was somewhat warm... I think my fissure liked it. :)
Good luck, I hope you have a wonderful time.

Thank you! I think you're right - when we're at home we dwell on it and the fissure seems to be the main focus of attention. Maybe, if its not given so much attention, it may not play up so much! Seems the same kind of strategy for dealing with naughty kids!!!

I was wondering the same thing. I'm going swimming this summer and don't want the chlorine to irritate. Is showering afterwards a must? I'm gonna be babysitting and I don't know if I have time to run to the shower after every dip in the pool (these kids like swimming a LOT haha)
