Msimon thank you. I hope you can find comfort and full healing soon too. Thank you for taking the time to help encourage and support me, a stranger! I greatly appreciate your input and thank you for sharing your story.

Hi I just wanted to let you both know and others on the board that today I am 6 days post op and had the lis. I too had severe nausea for 48 hours afterwards. I was given twilight anesthesia and it didn't agree with me. My incision didn't need a stitch I had a tailored lis. Pain has gotten a little worse the past few days dealing with bowel movements and soreness from healing but all in all im ok
And thankful I had the courage to follow through!

Congratulations on making it through surgery! I am so glad you had the courage to do it as well. I hope that as you enter week 2 the pain decreases drastically. For me my worst pain post op was followed by almost no pain the very next day. I hope it happens that quickly for you. Keep us updated on your progress!

Thanks for the update Lincoln. I also want to congratulate you on making it through the worst part. We all know how difficult it is to submit ourselves to such a painful 'elective' surgery.

I hope you start to feel pain relief really soon. That first week is the worst. I hope you were given some good pain meds. Let us know how you are doing, when you can.

Good luck with the healing, Lincoln. Congratulations, and I hope you will be all better very soon.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

Hi all (Msimon and broncosgirl) I'm 9 days post op and soreness and pain is subsiding but I still am having pain like the fissure pain or very close to it. I wake up feeling ok but as soon as I start to move etc I start to get pain in the incision and fissure site. Does anyone know how long it takes for the fissure to heal after lis? I'm wondering if it's even going to help me does it take a few weeks to heal?
