New pain?

Postby Garrod » 08 Aug 2015, 05:10

Ok, I may be getting paranoid... It's my week 4 post-op, fistulotomy with seton. I've been doing fine, no significant pain, could go almost back to normal after week 2, lately could barely feel anything there. Been to CRS check up 10 days ago (week 3), he says all good.
But, since a day or two ago, I have pain over there. It feels like it's around the wound (that's small at the moment), not the wound itself, and kind of similar to how a bruise hurts.... hurts on touch, especially in the back part of the wound, and I feel it when I walk/sit.
I've been sitting a lot lately and thought that's the reason, as if muscles got more sensitive.. but not sure anymore... I also have a vague feeling I'm getting a fever.... I can only visit the doctor in 6 days from now...
Totally freaking out...
Anyone experienced that 'late' and sudden pain? and what happened afterwards?
I've read from cporosus he had similar pain?

Do you still experience this? I don't have good experience with fistulas, probably it would be wise to book new appointment with your doc?

How are you doing Garrod? Delayed pain is not good but sometimes it just means healing as with healing things can pull...

Have you seen or talked to your CRS? Do you have a cutting seton?

I stopped sitting for longer periods of time, so it got better, I figured that's what it was, and no pain since.

I do feel some discomfort though, as you say, some pulling and kind of tight, or pinching, not sure how to describe it. Also, the area that's left to be closed and heal is very hard on touch. Not sure if that's the granulation tissue? I still have drainage too.

And I have a seton that's supposed to fall out on its own, I have no clue if it did, so maybe discomfort comes from it, if it's still there while the wound is closing...

I have a CRS visit in two weeks, and I keep being panicking over everything...
