I am 23 days post LIS surgery. Still having pain with BM and after BM. Not really spasm pain. Hard to describe. Stinging & soreness. Very discouraged as I thought I would be painfree this far out. Don't get me wrong I thank the Lord I am better than before surgery. Just want my life back. Anyone out there got suggestions?

Yes,10 days after surgery. Said everything seemed good, but it was ONLY 10 days after surgery. Just wonder if I need to contact him again. He told me it could take a month for pain to go away. Well 23 days is pretty close to the month mark.

I think things are well on there way for you. The fact that you are not having spasm pain speaks volumes. The fact that you still have some pain likely means you are not quite healed yet. Be patient, it can take time, especially depending on how severe your fissure was, how much of your sphincter was cut and whether you have been able to keep your BMs soft. How are your BMs? Do you have any bleeding or oozing (not just with BMs but throughout the day)?

Hello msimon. My stool is soft. I am very focused on keeping it that way! I haven't had any bleeding since 2 or 3 days after surgery and no oozing at all. I know I am short on patience but it seems like my family's life keeps moving and mine is still at a stand still. Thank you so much for your comments. You are always so positive! I sure needed that today. Thanks!

Am I still being impatient? It has been 5 weeks today since my LIS surgery and I'm STILL having pain with and after BM . I will have a really good day and then a couple of bad days. Is this normal? I am SO ready to be normal again! Has anybody experienced this?

I see him in November unless I need him before then. He wants to do colonoscopy but wants to give me a chance to heal before he does the procedure. (Which I am very thankful for.) I know I probably need to chillout some but I just want to get back to normal so bad. Feels like it has been forever since my life didn't revolve around my rear end!
