A hypothetical question..

Postby jay1975 » 17 Oct 2015, 13:58

Hi friends !

I've got a hypothetical question: Let's say that you were able to magically flip a switch so that your body no longer generates a bowel movement. How long do you think it would take for an AF to heal ?....Also, for the sake of argument let's assume that when you flip the switch back you simply resume your normal BM's (as opposed to creating a massive "backlog" from not going that would re-injur the AF).

I say it would heal it 5-7 days....

I'm almost completely healed now. Things really turned around for me a couple months ago, after I had several days straight of "gentle" BM's. So, by extrapolation I got to think that not going at all would heal things very quickly.

..Now, I know that this isn't physically possible...this is more of a thought experiment than anything else. I'm interested in what you all think !

I would say a good couple of weeks. That's how long it takes for a deep cut to fully heal in my finger.
Who knows though... Everyone is different!
fissure after hem banding and tag removal feb 11
Pelvic floor therapy
Diltiazem
Botox June 13
Nitro
Internal flap July 14
EUA and polyps removed Nov 14
Diagnosed with neuropathy Jan 15
Diagnosed with HS EDS type 3 (causes poor wound healing )

I've wondered this myself. I think 1-2 weeks but I guess we'll never know.

If only we could all employ this sort of solution...someone needs to invent some sort of flexible tube that can be shoved up there to allow stool to bypass...honestly i do believe it will be a reality one day -- with nano technology and new types of nano-fabrics it could just be a durable film that is inserted.....hopefully someone figures this out
