Will the bleeding stop!

Postby turnerprize » 24 Apr 2016, 07:57

So I'd welcome you to share your experience/thoughts.

Usually I have really good Bowels but following a bout of food poisoning and multiple trips to the loo, I decided to take some Imodium in order to enable me to go to work....

Great, except! I then didn't have a BM for 48 hours and when I did, it was really hard, really big and really hurt. After that BM I noticed blood on the loo paper and sharp burning pain from my anus, that lasted several hours. I checked downstairs and felt some lumps and a sore area that was not normally there! I've been using some pile suppositories for the last 3 days and whilst these makes it easier to sit down and walk, each time I have a BM even though it's soft, it's like passing glass and I have pain afterwards. I am finding "small" amounts of blood on the loo paper and can even wipe some traces away during the day (not after a BM).

Is this an AF and in your experience, will this heal itself given time? It hurts like hell with a BM.

Cheers
Simon

In my experience this looks like a fissure. To be 100 percent sure you have to see a surgeon or gastro specialist. If indeed a fissure you may apply creams like Rectogesic to close it up - this is if youre lucky, if however creams dont help this means chronic fissure and LIS might be needed if your doctor says so. Pls see specialist and inform us on results.

So, I am another 5 days on and the bleeding has stopped!

Living on a diet of lentils seems to have helped and I have now stopped the suppositories, as I believe that whilst these can help the piles, they can delay the healing process for an AF? There is sharp pain with a BM but once the session is over, the pain stops within 2/3 minutes and does not continue hurting for hour after hour.

I am not counting chickens but hope I am on the mend!
