Well it's official. My fissure is back with a vengeance. Another Botox failure added to the list with all the others....

Sighhh. Pain is 8/10, lots of blood, clinging onto the walls of the toliet etc etc.

Going to call my surgeon tomorrow and hopefully get this sorted. So over it. I have just started a new job which involves a whole lot of sitting, so I'm apprehensive to get another procedure, but I guess I need to think of my health first.

Oh no ouchie maybe the Botox didn't fail as you were pain free for quiet a while. Maybe you just have tight anal tone and are prone to more fissures even from a normal BM. Can you ask for the test to see how tight it is as at least that way you know if it's tight LIS is the best way forward. My Botox has officially worn off and I can sometimes feel the start of a spasm but it doesn't kick in fully I'm still glad I had the Botox as it has reminded me I can be mostly pain free. I'm waiting to go and see my surgeon so I can have the LIS done in November time. LIS would probably work great for you and lots of people say the recovery is easier than recovering from Botox.
Hopefully surgeon will be helpful

Thanks MPB xxx

Well I went to my surgeon and he has suggested LIS. I'm on the 3 month waiting list and I'm actually super excited for the op and the results. I can't wait to be pain free. My fissure is so bad now that even when the skin tag moves a little it hurts. About 8/10 pain at the moment.

I've been reading a few papers to see the rate of incontinence to gas/stool etc and seems like is common initially however it does eventually cease. So I think the benefits do outweigh the risks.

Ho Ouchie,
So pleased for you 3 months will fly by and you will soon be on the road to recovery. I had my LIS late Tuesday evening. To be honest the pain has not been too bad not as bad as the Botox but the swelling is awful, that may be because I have a lot of hems though. My CRS said any incontinence is just mild soiling and is very rare.
