Mystery pain

Postby Turtle345 » 01 Sep 2016, 15:31

Hello,
I am new here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I've suffered for a few years. Symptoms are:
-burning bowel movements. Every single one.
-burning can last all day.
-anus sometimes feels bruised or chapped. This pain is in front part. I call this The 12 o'clock position.
-the all da pain sometimes goes away for days or weeks at a time only to return for a few days or weeks. Longest relief was 35 days.
-never bleed but sometimes have yellow discharge. Not often though.
I've been to 2 family docs who each say no hemmies. I'Me seen 2 GI doctors. 1 said no hemmies. 1 said very minor hemmies. Went to a colorectal surgeon. He said some minor hemmies. Not enough to cause symptoms but enough to band. So I got them banded. No relief. He retired so I went to another who basically said the same thing. He banded 2. Again, no relief. I went back and he said I am clear of hemmies and he doesn't know what's wrong. I then decided to figure it out. Lasted 2 years trying all the ointments, sitz baths, elimination diet, etc... No relief. I then tried anoth family doc. Again no hemmies. He sent me to a GI. I have an apt in 3 weeks. But I am in so much pain. Can someone tell me if this sounds like a fissure? Are they hard to diagnose? No dr has mentioned a fissure. I'm baffled as to why this has been so hard to resolve.
Can someone tell me if this sounds similar to thier fissure symptoms??

Hi,

Yes, I can relate it could be fissure pain, especially all day pain. Yellow discharge however, might identify fistula. Fistula though is not that painful in majority of the cases.

You perhaps can ask someone(wife of husband) to take a closer look, sometimes it is possible to see if fissure or crack is present. For the fissure pain ibuprofen should help, try it after BM.

Another thing is special ointment like nitro or nifidepin, you can try this out to see it remedies your pain.

Fistula case I cannot really comment, as don't have much experience.

How are you doing these days?

Thanks for the reply pinpin. I had a GI appt last week. Again, no hemmies or fissure. Told me everything is healthy in there. Scheduled me for a colonoscopy to be sure, but told me my Levator Ani muscle is in spasm. Thinks this is my problem. I'm never heard of such a thing. Gave me antispasmatics. I researched this online. Some symptoms match, but burning BM's from muscle spasm?? I'm not convinced. Has anyone had this? If this is it, I'm gonna kick myself. I drive about 1,000 miles a week for work. Why didn't I think of this before?
