Should I have Botox injection after LIS?

Postby horsetrainer » 21 Oct 2016, 14:07

Anyone have Botox injection after LIS? I had open LIS ten weeks ago, and my incision is still open, bleeds occasionally, and oozes. And it is still very painful. My anterior fissure is better, and is beginning to close, but it still hurts, too.

I have my next appointment with my surgeon in a couple of days. The last time he saw me, a month ago, he said that I should consider Botox, and possibly a second LIS.

I can't imagine adding a second LIS incision given the amount of pain I'm in from the first incision. I'm glad the my fissure seems to be getting better, but it seems like I traded one open wound for another.

But honestly, Botox scares me. I can't say exactly why. I wonder if there is anything other than these two options?

I had Botox, which really is a piece of cake. I actually had it twice. It did relax things down there, but probably not long enough for my fissure to heal, which is why I had LIS four weeks ago. So yeah, I would totally give botox a try. You have already been through LIS, which is 100 times worse than Botox.
