Its something very good because coconut oil fights off skin infections, its wound healing and antimicrobial and moisturizer!

Dont know I bought today a small bottle of it and used it after bowel movement. My situation its since a week not bad the pain its minimal.

I wonder If anybody did use this stuff.

Some feel that coconut oil heals fissures....think about your fissure as a small papercut in the wrong place ;)

Would you put coconut oil on a cut and assume it would "heal" the cut...likely not. However, you might put it on to soothe the cut and make the healing process more bearable and easier. Thats how I see coconut oil. It can soothe and may have some antibacterial properties (not sure). However -- it will help your stool pass over the fissure in a easier way -- help it glide past and in that respect it can be really helpful.

Most find that natural healing is helped with a combination of heat, stool softener (miralax), good diet and good hydration, proper potty positioning, a good attitude and fortitude...and TIME!!!

I used coconut oil and it seemed to help soothe the area and also made the stools easier to pass as it acts as a lubricant. You can freeze it as well into little suppositories and insert one before having a BM..helps everything pass a bit easier.

I have been using coconut oil everyday for over a year now...and I tend to agree that although it does soothe the area and keeps the skin moisturised it doesn't actually heal the fissure. But it's good at what it does do I put it on after swimming to stop any dryness.

Hi Guys,
In my pursuit of happiness I thought I would give coconut oil a try. There seems to be all sorts of coconut oil out there. Can anyone recommend a particular brand that has helped them? I'm particularly interested in reduced pain and avoiding infection. I'm in the UK. Thanks LemonMan

There two kinds of coconut oil. The VGO virgein coconut oil and the FCO fractionated coconut oil. The first you find it in super markets and grocerys. The Fractionated you find it in pharmacy and aroma shops used as a carrier oil. The one I used is rhe FCO and it really helpd me a lot. You see the fractioning makes the oil more effective.

As the name implies, Fractionated coconut oil is a fraction of the coconut oil from which almost all the long chain triglycerides are removed, thus leaving mainly the medium-chain triglycerides and making it an absolutely saturated oil. This saturation gives it a very, very long shelf life and greatly increased stability.

In addition, fractionating raises the comparative concentration of Capric acid and Caprylic acid, thus giving it more of antioxidant and disinfecting effect.
