Hello, My name is Loretta Lippold and I have been suffering from one stubborn AF for about 4 months now. Only been treating it for about 3 months. The doctor I have been seeing me is referring me to a different doctor at this point as he thinks my condition, although improving, should be healed at this point. SO I am off to see another specialist to discuss possible surgery. My question is, how long does it normally take this thing to completely heal? I still have a bit of pain with a BM and still small amount of blood and still stinging a few hours after BM, BUT it is SO much better than it was about 2 months ago. I feel like I have been at this level of feeling better for awhile now and not going any further. I really don't want to do surgery but really don't want to live like this for much longer. The pain is tolerable now and I can once again function so part of me says " You are getting better, so give it some time" BUT how much time? Also, I am concerned this might be something worse than an AF ( cancer) since it refuses to heal. I have read that the symptoms of an AF are very similar to symptoms of rectal and anal cancer. SO my worrying, definitely doesn't help my situation as I am sure stress adds to the problem. Anyway, I have rambled enough. Would just like to get a word from someone who has actually suffered from one of these. Healing time? Surgery? Tell me your story!
Thanks so much!
