Driving Post LIS

I may be having this surgery, and however long I am off work for, my husband will need to get to work. Barring the day of op and day after, what is the likelihood of me driving 10 mins there and back after the surgery?

:thanx:

Are you meaning driving after the surgery - immediately? If so, and you are having anesthesia, the hospitals/doctors do not usually allow this.

I would say that that totally depends on how you feel. But, you will need to let the area heal, and driving might aggravate things. Have a look at a few of the success stories!

Hi there, everyone has a different experience. I drove two days after my surgery. Highway driving was fine so I thought things were great but then I got off the highway and had to do some gas/break/gas/break and it really hurt! I had to pull over and give myself a minute, for some reason the slight twitching of my foot from gas/break and pressing the pedal was rough for me. I was then in pain for the rest of the day but was better the next day. However, many posters seem fine 2 days after so it honestly depends on you and how much the Doc cuts! You will definitely have to keep it easy :) Best of luck!
