Hi, glad you managed to get away for the night! Have you got a heated pad to sit on? I can't live without mine it really helps after I go to the loo and when I'm sore might help? Sorry you can't see your surgeon earlier not too long to wait now Hun. MPB how are things going with you? Do you feel like any healing happening for you? X

Hi Becka,
Yes I do think there is healing happening as touch wood (hate tempting fate lol) I haven't had a spasm in well over a week. Now I'm just getting hours of burning. I haven't put my GTN on today after my BM as I'm not a work so will see if the burning increases to pain without the GTN.
It's very slow and who knows if I will ever get back to pre fissure where I felt nothing after multiple BMs but I'm eternally grateful it is improving.
How are you Hun? X

Aww bless you, well fingers crossed lots of progress for you! How come you use the GTN as well? I use diltiazam when I'm sore sometimes but my dr said not too? I'm doing ok after a bad few days period time now so things start going a bit easier! Only 2 weeks till my appointment now still not sure what to go for next lol

I have to use the GTN or the spasms can start used it all the way through the Botox my CRS said he has had patients use it for over 2 years...that will probably be me too lol.
Again I think it's mainly the ones who have multiple BMs who end up using it for longer.
Glad your having a bit better days hopefully you have had some healing, I guess the best thing to do is what your surgeon recommends I wouldn't know what to say as I had more pain relief from the Botox than the LIS but then Im a bit strange lol.

I've been on mine for a year and a half now so probably be me too lol yeah I will wait and see what he says I just want to stop fearing that I'm going to re-tear everytime I go I keep saying even if I managed to heal I'm going to have a re-tear again and start all over again anyway!

I'm not sure if any of us will ever stop worrying about it...after pain like this think it would be strange if we could just go back to normal. Like you though I think I worry more as I have an underlying issue that hadn't been solved really, a bit like how your always worse during your period...that will always be a concern.
But if you are healing then that is a positive sign guess we have to take comfort and motivation from that lol x

Your right don't think you can ever forget the pain! I've decided to play around with my diet again see if it helps at all. Doesn't help that I suffer from anxiety and slight OCD lol so you can imagine this bloody issue takes over my life!

I wish I was brave enough to try lol....I know the raw diet really helps but it plays havoc with my colon for the first month or so, with a fissure I dont think I could get through that month, so I'm sticking with protien and simple carbs lol.
Thankfully I don't suffer from anxiety this is bad enough as it is can't imagine how much anxiety and OCD complicates it....this fissure has made me slightly anxious on it's own, dread to think what it must do to someone who is anxious already x

Do you find carbs are ok with your ibs? I'm going to be cutting out carbs especially with my dinner as it bloats me, I started taking peppermint Oil capsules a month ago they seem to help a little after I eat a meal but I find when I eat I go into panic mode and start worrying I'm going to need the loo!

Simple carbs like white bread and potatoes are great for me, they really slow things down, some complex carbs are okk but not many. The thing that really bloats me is cornflower didn't figure it out for ages but my chef friend suggested it when I said that sauces of any kind really set me off big time....she was like the only common link in most sauces is cornflower.....not only does it bloat me and give me enough wind to power a large city but I always end up on the toilet lots after any sauce.
I tried the peppermint years ago in my teens and it was brilliant but since my crohns hasn't seemed to work as well if at all.
Oh trust me I have had more panic poops than I care to remember....I think quite a lot of the IBS flare after my LIS was caused by sheer panic
