Hi newmom 89 sorry to hear you are going through this, I had mine occur about 6 month sago, used nitro with some help, but had Botox a month ago, and in two weeks the fissure was healed. that was about 2.5 weeks ago. I am now dealing with internal hems the General Surgeon said and this whole ordeal has activated the levator muscles into tight knots, (I have had 6 babies including twins) so must have alittle pelvic floor dysfunction adds to it
so using an arsenol to get back to normal. Specialist said, Bioflavanoids to help anal health, all natural herbal supplement, hemp oil salve, Aleve, heat, soaks, etc.. takes time, and more time. Every time there is a procedure there it is very innervated and the muscles go into guard mode. Mine seems to have tensed up constantly so will need some time to settle. There can also be a dull throbbing ache and feeling like a charleyhorse and full feeling as well. Have you had any of these symptoms and how long has it been at it's worse? Some people heal with just the ointment I used .04 can use up to 3 times a day, but they start conservatively. Hope you heal very soon

Hi mamafizz,

I have bleeding on and off since December 2015 (5 weeks after having my daughter). The times with bleeding (especially the first time) I am in BAD pain. Like a sharp feeling while going, and then pain that lasts the rest of the day. Mostly a painful fullness sort of feeling and tension.

When I'm not bleeding that means I'm using the ointment. When I stop the ointment I bleed again within 1-2 weeks. I never truly heal. At once point I used the ointment 3 months straight without bleeding during that time. But, I still had throughout the day and everyday feelings of tension, fullness, burning, and slight pain at times when using the bathroom.

I would describe the feeling as burning with radiates to my coccyx/IT bones. And also as a fullness/pressure. I almost feels similar to needing to go to the bathroom or pass gas, but nothing is actually there.
Began 5 weeks postpartum (12/2015)
0.2% Nif + usual conservative tx + physio (2016)
Periods of healing on Nif, reoccurs within 1-2 weeks of stopping Nif
Pressure/Tension Everyday

Plan: Try 0.3% Nif ?Botox. ?LIS (CRS discouraging this - I want more kids).

Yes those are the symptoms,This area is extremely tempermental and causes extreme anxiety, So the cycle of fear, pain, muscle spasms have to be reversed. Takes alot of time. I basically the past six months have not engaged in any of my normal routine, because it has been so extremely painful, mine from the spasms primarily. However The botox seems to have taken care of the sharp burning pain and no bleeding when going to bathroom, but the minute its done, it still feels as though you need to go more and those crazy muscles start the memory cycle again. I am told the fissure is healed at least on the surface.

. If you check out this website has some good info http://www.davidrosenfeldmd.com/brochur ... n-ano/Also then the build up of tightness pressure and for me still having spasms and if I try to sit it feels as though there is knot or ball feeling which makes me avoid sitting or I just side sit because of it. Also due to gravity and the pressure standing or just being on my feet too long makes it worse and by the end of the night really troubling, pulls all the way up to the tailbone as well. I find laying on my side is most tolerable. Eases somewhat overnight but then starts all over the next day. Is yours similar to this? I can't believe I never heard of this before and how long this actually takes to overcome. So much patience is needed. Any time there is a procedure they do make it sound very simple but even with Botox it was for me very painful and I had sedation and it's only been alittle over a month but it still disturbed everything so much so there is still all of this pressure and tightness and a clamped shut feeling. But it is considered success technically. The least we disturb things there the better, it takes so much time to recover. The specialist said there are inflamed veins higher up where they cannot be seen that can also cause these symptoms and there is a bioflavanoid supplement that can help take care of this and also help alleviate some of the pressure and therefore helps reduce the muscle tension. I just ordered it I will look it up and let you know. It is all natural and holistic in nature. There is also something called cramp bark that can also be used to help settle things down as well. Hang in there!

Hi Newmom, How are you feeling.. I too am having these constant symptoms as well. Botox did heal my fissure the Surgeon said and the Specialist I spoke to after that said it takes quite some time for the muscles to simmer back down and the tenesmus and full pressure feeling goes away, anxiety and tension also causes this to make it worse. But he reassured me that it will get better. Sometimes takes 6 months. Hang in there. Prayers for us all.
