Time is the best healer it's just quite often the body heals a lot slower than the mind would like.
Yes def write a complaint and if possible or needed I would get a different surgeon especially if you do have a fissure that may need more doing in the future.
I would wait for maybe at least another week before going back to the gym...we just don't realise how much our butt is involved in daily life and how easily pain can be triggered I know at it's worse my spasms could be triggered just by stepping off the kerb.
I'm sure in a few more weeks you will be back to your old self and this will be a memory that shows you how you can get through anything

Hi halfdog,

By the way Movicol is the UK version of Miralax I believe. It's freely available from online pharmacies. I'd recommend it, and I use it daily. Sorry to hear you are in pain! "Excision of anal lesion" may not be the warts to be honest. It normally refers to cutting out hemorrhoids is my understanding. It's a shame you didn't get to talk to the consultant after. Maybe after looking he saw you had a particularly bad external hemorrhoid? If you have had an external hemorrhoid excised I've heard it's very painful and does take several weeks to get over, but worth it in the end.

GTN is a vasodilator i.e. it increases blood to the area, so probably not best for treating hemorrhoids I would say.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.
