Sorry I havent updated -- had my specialist appointment on June 16 and thorough examination revealed that the AF had healed! Apparently the pain I am now experiencing is cramping caused by extremely tight sphincter and aggravated by anxiety and stress. Since being told that I calmed down and my pain has become much less frequent. Now I know it is cramping, I dont panic and just accept it and it seems to go away quite quickly.

The specialist did prescribe rectogesic ointment if the cramping becomes too bad. I havent needed it yet but will use if I need it.

So very happy right now. Thanks to the forum for the support.

Hi Limone27! Your situation sounds very much like mine now, Dr says my fissure is fully healed but I still experience the pain you describe and it definitely flares up in times of stress. I just hope that one day I will be pain free...
