something my CRS told me about patients frequently dont eat because of the fear of bad bm's
well that is me. i tend to starve myself when i have problems
now im small built to begin with 5'7 125
i just wonder.. how do you eat healthy an maintain weight/gain etc
on the bland diet that i eat
i do miss alot of the junk i used to eat, cakes etc but im afraid to eat alot of the stuff for fear of cannonball bm's

oh my goodness! I too lost a lot of weight dealing with this but am gaining it back. I think I weighed what you do now but lost about 20 pounds. I have had to add protein powder to my soy milk I use for my all bran buds and have added a protein bar too to my diet. I also take flax seed oil and fish oil since they are high in the good fat that we need and is very calorie rich.

I understand the fear. Everything I eat I think that it has to come out and that can stop me cold in my tracks.

I have found that if I use milk of magnesia at bed time that I can get away with eating a bit more. Your body does need calories and protein to heal properly so if you can't eat as much at least try to eat more calorie dense food. I eat frozen yogurt for a treat almost every day. I does not bother my stools as I take stool softners and that has helped me to gain weight. I am almost getting to the point that I might have to start watching that I don't gain too much.

:pooh:

You have the cutest dog btw. I bet he cheers you up a lot!

I also find that things like almond butter and esp macademia butter are delicious and really help keep the weight on. I too am trying to regain a little.
