That's great, Mike. I'm glad everything looks good. Yeah, that air is no fun afterwards. Get a good rest! I'm still groggy from yesterday.
Sorry I haven't been on. I checked the board a couple of times since yesterday, but was so tired I knew I better not try to type anything or it would turn out goofy. :-)
The doctor took out a little 2mm polyp and is getting it tested. He said I have internal hemorrhoids, but nothing that's a big deal. I, also, have some diverticula, but not enough to worry about.
He did say he wants my primary to do a serumology which I guess means bloodwork for celiac sprue. Sounds like some of my symptoms makes him wonder about that. So, I need to call the doctor in the next few days and get an appt.
He just said to stay with the high fiber diet and Metamucil. Nothing was ever concrete about what's causing the bleeding other than maybe the hemorrhoids. I asked him if it could be yeast or a skin problem because I feel a little sting when I go and then it bleeds. He said he didn't see anything. So, I guess it's hemorrhoids. Still not sure. When I bled at the beginning of the prep, it was definitely a sting right where the little lumps are at the 6 o'clock position. I was too out of it to ask, but he didn't say anything about them. I think those are skin tags and they pop out and then retreat back. Oh well, at least nothing to really worry about from the sounds of it.
That prep was another thing altogether. I thought the Golytely was bad because of the amount to drink, but this was way more tiring. I finally ended up going alot about 2 1/2 hours after I took the phospho soda. And went for a couple of hours. I fell asleep about 11 and woke up at 2 and kept going all night. At 6, I took the 2nd dose and went until we left at noon. It never did come out clear, so I called in the morning to tell them it was yellow water and they said that was normal. So, at least I was cleaned out enough for them. Just wore me out.
The nurse said it could take 2-3 days to go to the bathroom, so I'm back on the Metamucil and hoping the first one is soft. Nothing said about if there might be bleeding because of the polyp being removed.
Anyway, that's my saga. Still worn out and sleeping off and on. My husband stayed home again today because we're waiting for the TV repairman. I'm glad he's here, so I don't have to mess with anything. He's pushing Gatorade on me to help get my electrolytes back up. I don't like it to begin with and especially after drinking it during the prep. But, it seems to be helping wake me up some.
Thanks for everyone's prayers. I'm so glad it's over with. The doctor said I should do it again in 5 years because of the polyp. Something to look forward to. :-P

awesum. glad all went well for you julie
im sure the polyp will be neg and you will just have to deal with the diet etc
it was funny when he was just ready to pull the scope out, he showd me the internals and said there not too bad.. but that is where my blood comes from at times of hard big bm's
so back to fiber etc. but its just a relief knowing nothing else is going on.
another thing he said on withdrawl hes like i dont see no fissure
so i guess i did finally heal it. its been over a year when i first found the fissure..
get sleep , and rest up,
im wondering if i should do the stool softener today
as i ate so much when i got home i was STARVED

but mostly soup and lite things
OH and that prep UGH i will never look at gingerale again in the same way
i mixd mine with ginger ale thinking oh this will be easy
well all the phoso soda floated to the top an UGH
i ate popsicles right after to kill the aftertaste
next time i do this i am asking for golitely
:)
and yah mine was yellow towards the end too i said jeez there cant be nothing left in there but guts LOL
