Thanks for reply. Do you also have chronic one ? Can you apply nitro if fissure is bleeding ? How often apply it? Should I do it with my finger or q-tip ? Thank you

Yes you can apply nitro even if the fissure is irritated. I don't think antibiotics make any difference in healing a fissure unless there's an infection, but I'm not sure of any interactions. Your doctor should tell you how often to apply it, but if not then 2-3 times a day if fine. Apply it with a gloved finger just inside the anus. If that's too painful then apply it with a q tip while sitting on the toilet so that you're not forcing it in .

I have used both ointments with no apparent benefit. I have stopped all treatments at this point, and am just relying on stool softeners. I have had the fissure for 5 months. Does anyone have experience with long term healing without surgery or botox?
Fissure started in May 2017 due to colonoscopy
First 2 doctors prescribed only hydro cortisone
CRS finally diagnosed fissure in August
Nitro and other creams have not helped, may be causing rash

5 months is a long time but you may still be able to heal. Botox is a safe option, not sure why you're discarding it. Also, if you have a lot of itching it would be a good idea to see a dermatologist who can check if you've developed a fungal infection.
