I'm 6 days post op from a fissurectomy (with the removal if some small hemmeroids) plus botox. Today I lost a lot of fluid from the wound, something that didn't happen the last few days. After I picked up my daughter from daycare the wound was bleeding somewhat. I guess it might be because I carried her in a babycarrier and that is too much strain?
Reassurance? Is this normal? Should I be careful when lifting / carrying her?

I don't know how heavy your daughter is. The advice I've seen is to avoid carrying anything heavy at least the first two to four weeks. I didn't carry anything heavier than a bottle of pop the first two weeks and nothing over 5kg (around 10lbs) the first month.

Call the surgeon and ask for advice as they'll be able to provide advice for your specific case.

I was told nothing more than 5 pounds, so your baby alone would be too heavy. I had LIS though, but would imagine that any surgery would involve the same limitations.

Did your doctor not provide you with post-op instructions?

He just told me about how to take care of the wound, nothing about lifting or anything else. I'll see how today goes but this morning there was still some blood and wound fluid, I don't know if that's normal 7 days after the operation.

I've had 3 fissures come and go, but the one I got operated on I've had for 5 years.
I'm now 9 weeks post op and doing better. I had to stay home from work for a total of 4 weeks because of recurrent bleeding and then I decided to start seeing an specialised physiotherapist. She taught me how to relax the muscles and that helped a lot.
I would recommend some help with the baby for the first few weeks because lifting is not great for the healing process.

I'm really better off because I had pelvic cramps because of the fissure and they are gone.
The physiotherapy teaches me how to recognise the different pelvic floor muscles so i can learn how to relax them when I'm on the toilet. I also sit on a tennis ball to stretch them which is quite funny, she also taught me the right posture to go to the toilet,....
I'm glad I had the surgery, but it's important that you know that the first weeks post op are hard and frustrating.
