Springtime Visit

Postby Guest » 11 Apr 2008, 06:43

Just a little update about my springtime visit my doctor....
I was rather nervous of what she would say and my belly was feeling it yesterday!
Good news is, she had a peek at my fissure and said it seems to be healing rather well....TOUCHWOOD TOUCHWOOD Image
She said the skin tag has reduced in size too Image
I asked about the internal polyp as it has been a worry for my little head -to which she replied you don’t have an internal one, just the polyp which can be seen externally !!!!! which she says is also called a sentinel tag!!! Image So supposedly I don’t have a polyp internally…Great !
Now going back a few weeks when I was using the suppositories i felt a soft lump about the size of a pea, I asked her about this she said it is possible I have an internal hemorrhoid…Booo !
As far I know I don’t think this hemmy cause any problems, she didn’t exam me fully which I really did appreciate, and said must keep going with movicol and the anoheal, She didn’t feel it was necessary to send me back to the hospital and agreed that the healing should have some more time!
Can anyone tell me - Will this internal hemorrhoid shrink away or is that just wishful thinking?
Also I did forget to ask her about the itching I have which has been better the last couple of days but usually itchy after a bath or shower, is canesten the best treatment?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated Image
There has been a lot of talk about skin tags on the board, going on my own experience I would say over the year mine has reduced in size by half, I use aloe Vera when it is irritated and also wheat germ oil…thanks to Lecia and Val for this tip :_):
I also had a skin tag a few years back this reduced in size too and although I have the reminder of my war wound that tag is now the size of a very small pip
Heres hoping !!!
Thanks for listening...

Tabby,
I am sure others know more about this than me, but I think once you have internal hemmies, they don't ever go away on there own. The RBL procedure I am having done this week is very simple and I will let you know how it goes.
How many times a day do you put on the aloe and wheat germ?
I am glad to hear your doing better!

Thats good news Tabby!
I think once you have internal hemmies they are there for keeps, but you can get them injected. If they are small they may just bleed every so often with not much pain as they are high in the insensitive part but if they become bigger they prolapse and become external piles which can get thrombosed.

Kind thanks for your replys and well wishes Jen and Val..
Of course i am still being rather cautious as we all know setabcks happen without any given reason...I AM ON GUARD AT ALL TIMES !!!
Hopefully...Fingers crossed the next time i see my doctor she will be able to check out this hemmy, i must have got this after November time as the surgeon didnt say i had one but then again i could understand a word he said !
Jen, i use the aloe vera for the tag as needed and the wheatgerm daily for the fissure - externally,
I dont know if wheatgerm oil could be used internally for the fissure ?? but as i have had the funny itch i have been refraining from all creams, oils for now..
I like The wheatgerm oil and put a few drops into the bath too :)
Thanks Jen, i hope your procedure goes really well for you
Please do let me know how you get on..Goodluck ! :)

hi tabby,
the good thing about the sentinel piles is that they usually can get smaller - the trick is to not force/push a lot while having your bm. usually if you strain and push and push, you cause a lot of pressure and with this pressure, i am sure you bring fluid/blood into the area and it makes the pile grow/fill up.
sometimes the only way to get rid of a very large pile that is full of blood, is to have it pop during a bm and then you start all over.
for my tag, i found so much relief using Vicks Vapor Rub. You feel it super fast and in a few minutes, it's like the area completely just relaxes and the pain goes away - because Vicks has something that numbs the area too.
For me it was a wonderful tip that I got from my mom.
