If the bleeding isn't troublesome I wouldn't worry about it but my husband gets his banded when he starts wiping blood off and it seems to nip it in the bud.

I'm glad you're doing okay, Mike, except for the bleeding. That's no fun. At least, knowing what's causing the bleeding helps a little I think.
Mine aren't acting up at all this week since the colonoscopy. My problem has been a pinching pain in my lower abdomen since having it done. It's feeling alot better today, but I've really had to take it easy all week. I called the surgery center to ask about it and they were concerned thinking the diverticula that the gastro doctor found was causing a problem. They didn't want me to call the gastro doctor, but instead my primary. I did and he was right by the phone and so I didn't have to wait for an answer. He said that because of the biopsy on the polyp, it wasn't unusual to have pain. If the pain became really bad and I started to run a fever I needed to come in. Otherwise, he'll see me on Wednesday. So, I calmed down after that (I was working myself up thinking something was really wrong) and just took it easy and it's feeling much better.
I go in Tuesday to the surgeon who recommeneded the colonoscopy. I plan on this being the last visit with her and I'm only going because of it being a followup to the colonoscopy. Otherwise, I wouldn't be going back. If I need a referral again, I'll get it from my new primary. I really like him and think his advice will be much better. Then, I see him Wednesday for the results of the polyp hopefully and I need to get that blood test for celiac sprue. I'm sure nothing will come of it, but might as well check it out.
I've really relaxed since the colonoscopy. Not knowing what was causing the bleeding was stressing me out so much and that was just causing more tummy problems. Now that I know it's the hemorrhoids and maybe the polyp, I'm hoping I'm not as freaked when and if it happens again. I don't think I'll want anything done with the internal ones unless they really start to give me problems. The doctor didn't seem to concerned about them. He seemed more concerned about the celiac sprue for some reason. He said if I have it, I need to get it under control because it's known to cause cancer. I knew that because when my daughter was little we went through a time with her when the doctors thought she had it. She didn't, but I had read up on it. I can't imagine that's what I have because I don't think my symptoms fit, but we'll see.
Thanks, everyone, for your well wishes and prayers. I'll still be coming here even though I don't have a fissure. I can't imagine not checking in to see how everyone's doing.
Julie :-)
