Guess what’s back

Postby Mypoorbutt » 06 Feb 2018, 09:10

Well aren’t I just so blooming lucky....I now have a new(possibly old reopened) fissure I have had it a week am using GTN and baths but it seems to be getting worse. No agonising spasms just yet but the burning and stinging are there for a good few hours after a BM and reappear if I sit for too long. I have an appointment with my GP on the 15th and will ask to see my CRS if it’s not improved by then. I have started a new job and need to pass my degree this summer I can NOT afford to spend hours in the bath and days not eating again. :groan:

Oh no, I hope it heals fast because i ve heard people with LIS if they have another fissure it heals fast. I hope this is the case for you. Have you explored the dialation possibility. I am obsessed to try it as soon as my finger gloves arrive. It makes sense that the muscles need to undergo a physical therapy to get used to being stretched without over reacting.

I have had a few fissures since LIS and they have healed within a week to ten days whereas this one seems to be getting worse. I do the finger massage/dilation but am wondering if I need actual dilators. My issue is not how wide as ai can pass quite large formed BMs with no problem my issue is my resting pressure was very high and my liquid BM strip the skin

I'm so very sorry to hear that you're suffering yet again. I have no advice to offer, but really hope that this one goes away like the others.

Really sorry to hear you're suffering with this again MPB. Hugs to you, and I hope it will be gone very soon. Any chance they can give you a different medication that will get you past this flare?
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy

I’m allergic to diliatazem for the fissure and unfortunately my liver struggles with infliximab for my crohns which is steroid based so I have to come off if when my LFTs show my liver is unhappy, which is the reason for my current flare. I have upped the loperamide significantly and am hoping this works soon.

Have you explored holistic approach to your condition, like excluding grains and dairy. Also to take supplement, acupuncture perhaps.

I don’t eat dairy haven’t touched it for 26 months because I know I’m lactose intolerant, I’m also fructose intolerant so haven’t had fruit for the same amount. I’m fine with most grains and I cannot take any supplements as they make me go to the toilet at least 20 times for about 48 hours after. I have vitamin B injections every 6/8 weeks depending on my test results. I tried acupuncture and homeopathy which eased the IBS but didn’t touch the crohns. I wish scientists could manage to invent an intestinal transplant lol....I have even looked into the fecal transplant as a last resort

If you haven't try excluding gluten for two months and see how you feel. You don't have to have allergy necessary for gluten to cause inflammation and other intestinal damage. I ve read many many accounts for people reversing many diseases just by eliminating gluten. You can eat the other gluten free grains so you won't be deprived.
