Terrible sorry that you're having a retear, CB. Can you provide more details on why it may have happened? Have you weaned off miralax? Have your BMs become harder or larger than usual? I wouldn't jump to the conclusion of stenosis so quickly. It may just be a rebound of muscle tension. I think it's a good idea to go see the CRS and get your questions cleared up. Take care!

Thanks for the reply and kind words.

I take nothing...but started back with miralax after the incident. No larger bm- maybe a bit harder.

I am at a bit of a loss as to why this happens to me - other than thinking I am predisposed to this.

I am speaking with my regular doc today and will likely set up a consult with the crs in future.

It's possible that the area just hasn't had enough time to get fully healed, and this is just a bump in the road to recovery. Have you tried self dilation? That may be what you need to keep the muscles loosened even though you've had LIS.

Hey All -- just wanted to come back and say a quick happy holidays to all my awesome butt buddies.

Also wanted you all to know that I am doing really well -- from time to time i can still get a tiny bit of a tear and a speck or two of blood that will cause discomfort for a day or perhaps two...but it passes fast and the discomfort is no where near where it once was. LIS was a great decision for me. Eating right is super important and maintaining low level of stress i find is also helpful.

Best to all and good luck to anyone who is on this not so fun journey....there is light at the end of the tunnel...(hope you enjoyed the pun)

Hey - thanks for the kind words. All of us on this forum are either dealing with or have dealt with a really frustrating and painful condition - like many, I felt pretty hopeless for a while — but with good care and input from a professional I was able to massively improve - and 99.9% of it is behind me.

So yes - there is hope for us all!!

All best - CB

Thanks CB you give me hope I'm still dealing with my fissure in an off last 5 years had Botox 10months ago it has helped but my stools change throughout the month and set me back sometimes, it's hard to have constant good stools, I'm happy your doing so well I'm booked for more Botox this year and if by 2020 this isn't behind me I'll be getting lis too.
