Hi Amanda, just curious, do you take any sort of stool softeners after the LIS. I am not sure if I should stop the psyllium husk and completely go back to normal as before.

I took MiraLAX, mineral oil and Citrucel for the first two weeks after my surgery. Every once in a while I will take MiraLAX if I’m feeling a little stuffed up but that’s only A few times a month. I have just up to my favor and I still continue to drink lots of water. No complications since the surgery!

Great, I think! I don’t see any visible hemorrhoids ever since they banded them! I still have some skin tags from my fissure that I did not get removed because they are more cosmetic.. but they don’t cause me any pain so I opted to not get them removed.

Did you say you had 3 done at the same time?

I've heard some people say doing more than 1 or 2 at a time can be exruciatingly painful.

Yes I had three rubberbanded. Rubberbanding from what I have experienced and read doesn’t really hurt, a hemorrhoidectomy that’s a different story! You don’t really feel the rubber bands!

He Mike, Google CRH O' regan. This is a new much faster method for band ing. It takes less that a minute to put. You can search for doctors in your area who perform it because not everyone does. I was going to have it done but after my LIS the hem is gone.

Amanda what did your surgeon says about lis as a whole? Did he mention Botox? An was your fissure anterior or posterior?

I’m not sure if it was anterior or posterior, I will have to look at my paperwork and see what he said.
My surgeon said my fissure was definitely chronic and the only cure was LIS.he did mention Botox but said it only works temporarily and doesn’t have a high success rate. I was tired of the pain and wanted results for good. I wish I would have gotten LIS sooner! Haha
