Fissurectomy recovery

Postby Debbie6312 » 06 Jul 2018, 05:56

Hi everyone, I’m Debbie from Cape Town South Africa. I have been struggling with a chronic fissure for a year now and had a Fissurectomy on Tuesday this week. The pain after a BM is excruciating and I am battling to cope. When can I expect this pain to subside? I don’t know how much more pain I can take :(

That sounds extremely painful, I'm sorry. :( Perhaps warm baths after a BM or whenever you're in pain could be helpful. Ask your doctor for appropriate pain medication as well. Make sure your water intake is high, plus add a stool softener like Miralax so that you don't need to strain when you go.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy
