Yep it's taken me from pain everyday both during an after bms for 2 weeks on 2 weeks off to just mild pain or discomfort during bms them a minute later I'm in no discomfort and can go on with my day without thinking about it, but I'm still not 100% happy I can feel that my muscle has tightened after years of having a fissure I think my last step if the next round of Botox doesn't fix me fully will be lis, I do recommend Botox as first line I guess because it helps but maybe if people want it over with an fixed they should get lis if I was you id get Botox then if still not sorted get one last round then get a second opinion on lis because the risks are tiny, lis is the gold standard for fissures and has been for like 30 years or something it has like a 95% success rate Botox is 60% some have even told me it's 50/50. Alot of surgeons don't bother with Botox because it just delays things an most that get Botox go on the get another fissure where as with lis your chances of getting another fissure in the future are like 1% I'd recommend you read only success stories of both on this website check out some success stories it gave an still gives me alot of hope. Good luck an keep in touch.

Lots of miralax/diltiazem/lidocaine + lots of sitz baths + as much daily activity as I could manage + time (about 3-4 months for me). I think I'm effectively healed though, finally. Skin tag has shrunk way down.

Nitroglycerine 0.2% cream is what is working for me, for some reason it works like magic. Tho the fissure is not gone and I get some pain its only minimal and thank god cause my work involves lifting 110 pound bags of sugar and stuff which puts a lot of strain on the fissure and hurts it up a lot.

Sitz baths are useless for me so I don't waste time with it, its healing faster without the sitz baths also. Its been 5 long months of agony and given wrong medication by 4 doctors until I googled Nitro and demanded a prescription for it. I am REALLY hoping this Nitro is able to heal this thing completely, god bless those scientist who invented these creams

Today I had a hard stool, well the first 2 inches was hard as always, however very little spasms after which is a great thing. I Never felt this good, in months.

Went to the doctor yesterday at the public health clinic, didn't even think she was a doctor in all honesty she honestly looked like a very young glamor model or something, thought she was a patient at first. I got a bit scared because since she looked like a teenager, I thought maybe she would not have experience and prescribe me a wrong medication.

Luckily she was knowledgeable and she told me 0.2% here in the Caribbean is not a first treatment for chronic fissures she says its for acute, she said 0.4% is the recommended strength for deeper chronic due to its high success rate. She told me studies done in different parts of the world does not reflect a population here where we live. So she prescribed me GTN paste 0.4% and said she believes it will give me a 100% healing due to the positive feedback from the 0.2% I gave her.

She even said that surgery is nothing to be scared off. But I think I will avoid surgery no thank you
What I found weird is she said she can't give me a prescription for 0.5% Nifedipine because it is illegal, I call bullshit on this she has to be saying this because she doesn't know what Nifedipine cream is. She doesn't go by google results she goes by a local medical text on what is recommended.

Berzerker5 and you a male or female? For men lis the fissure surgery is very safe and overall for both male and female the lis is something like 96% success in healing a chronic fissure, I'm just responding to your early question about how the testing pressure works if the resting pressure is high which pretty much everyone with a chronic anal fissure is then by having lis that would take our pressure back down to the normal range so before lis we can actually have our resting pressure tested just to make sure an if the pressure is overly high chances are no cream on the planet will heal us I just had my second shot of Botox an it was great both times while the Botox was active but once it wore off the resting pressure went back to my normal overly high level and the fissure came back. Lis doesn't wear off.

Hi I am male 33 years old.

Hmm you actually made LIS sound so good, I am actually thinking of getting it now. The idea of LIS returning the pressure to a normal level sounds so good.

I am collecting 0.4% Nitro next week and I suppose we will see how it works, if it doesn't work I will just look into the LIS and be done with it. I can get it free from our public hospital, the waiting list is probably a year or 2 I think.

Can I walk out of the hospital same day and travel home?

I haven't had it done but it's definitely a thought I'm having at the moment I think of you wrote down all your questions and book an appointment with a colorectal specialist you could ask one of your questions. Good luck hopefully the cream fixes you or you could go get your tone tested which I think you also ask the colorectal specialist about.

I am trying smoking Cannabis for this fissure, doesn't appear to heal the fissure but appears to ease the pain a lot.

I feel like it slows down my digestion a little bit but maybe it is because I am only eating KFC and drinking chocolate milk shake for the past week. I was doing this cause it has helped a whole lot

I tried Diltiazem, Rectiv(nitro), hydrocortisone acetate suppositories, Botox, and in the end the LIS fixed everything. I would have had a horrible day with pain today if this was last year. BM was huge/bulky and pre-LIS I was having to strain every time. This would have been one of those. Then I had more stool to evacuate (as they say) right afterwards and that second wave is what usually raises the pain to a 10. Today - no problem going to the bathroom, no strain, no pain with the first or second wave. Do you know how wonderful that feels? I never have to worry anymore when I go that "this could be a bad one" which is what always ends up happening when you medicate something that should be surgically fixed. And let's face it, after 6+ years of this and having to strain in the last year with every single BM - that is simply unacceptable. No stool softeners, no meds including Nitro and those headaches, no special diet, no creams or ointments, no suppositories, no witch hazel, no painkillers, no sitz baths, no nothin'!

Rich44 you sound rich with that life style haha sounds incredible. How silly is it that we think arr painfree poop with a dream come true when it should bever cause pain in the dam first place. So happy you have found the light at the end of the tunnel. I've tried all like you including botox twice but haven't had lis so i guess that will be next if this flears up again.
