skin tags

Postby hurtinend » 10 May 2019, 17:36

Can skin tags cause pain? I have a large skin tag. Gastro doc said no but I’m not buying it.

My pain is through the roof

I've had a skin tag that caused pain, but not through the roof. It was extremely tender and hurt quite a bit. Probably an 8 out of 10 if touched, and a 5 afterward, until it calmed down again.

My pain starts about 2 hrs after bm, and increases to a 10 out of 10. It lasts most of the day. My pain has significantly increased since a colonoscopy I had 2 months ago. Feels like a high pitched fireball/muscle spasm.

Colonoscopy showed nothing other than a large skin tag (likely from old fissure I had years ago).

And you don't have internal hemorrhoids? Those sound like the symptoms I had, with thrombosed internal hems.

I wish I could look up there myself

Were you told that you didn't have hemmies, or just that your pain was a mystery? The reason I ask, is because many medical professionals, believe that internal hems can't cause pain, so may have just ASSumed that they didn't even need to mention their presence. I think that internal hems that are thrombosed are rare.

Colonoscopy report

“one polyp removed, appears benign, will be sent for testing. Large skin tag visible on anal verge. Mild redness in rectal mucosa (unremarkable). Negative IBD”

Don't give up. I have another health condition, and it is a "mystery" too. I will NOT give up and keep researching and seeing doctor after doctor.
