Sitz baths

Postby Cez » 10 Jul 2019, 21:56

I have a strange question. When taking sitz baths I usually have more pain in the anus region. I take baths not to reduce the post defecation pain so much, but to heal..I have not seen any comments of those feeling pain while taking sitz baths (I even feel pain sometimes when I don't use Epsom salt).it is a dull somewhat throbbing pain .wondering if anyone else has pain with sitz baths?
Thanks
Cez

I did up until today, post op. Also I made the water more lukewarm instead of warm. Reducing the temperature helped. I think in a small part it also has to do with the pressure on my bum when sitting in it too

Each day I'm a bit better. Still trying to work how much stool softeners to take but fingers crossed I'm moving closer to my goal. There's no more redness, still just a little bit sore, but not the aching that it was previously. I've yet to take Panadol or Advil and I'm sitting in the recliner.

BM did not hurt but the pressure right before my BM did sting a bit. I finally got my nifedipine to use nightly.
