Fistula Surgery in UK

Postby James » 17 Dec 2021, 15:20

Hi everyone,

I am new here after having analabscess drained on 01 december 2021 and told that I have a fistula need operation.

I am happy to find this forum as I read alot of stories and encouragement as I was reading google information previously which can be depressing.

The wound is still draining and I am instructed to wash with warm water twice a day and the pain has gone down well.

My problem is the waiting times on the NHS in UK can take many months so If anyone has information about the cost in the private and any good colorectal surgeons in London area I would be grateful if you can share your experiences.

Thanks again for whoever came up with the idea of this Forum.

Hi there, I'm not in the UK but several other members are, and hopefully they may be able to answer your question. In the meantime you could try searching the forum for posts on this topic. I have seen some posts in the past about members choosing private healthcare in the UK.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy

I also suggest that you search the forum for UK private health care - there have been several discussions on that theme, and several Harley Street consultants have been mentioned.
