Itchy Advice ?

Postby Guest » 31 May 2008, 04:36

Hello :D
Can anyone help ?
My itch is driving me mad Image Just as i thought it was was a distant memory !!!
I have been using lanacane for my itch which does work a treat but it state do not use more than 7 days…I am on day 10 !!! Nothing else seems to help like Lanacane !
If you remember rightly i am the overuse victim of anusol - hydrocortisine,
which is probley why i am suffering , a year of anosol has obviously thinned my skin Image
I need suggestions please !
My itch is only a problem during the night I have tried e45 itch and that made me itch even more!!!. Which means i have had broken sleep for so long now it is starting to drive me insane!
The itch …sorry for the graphics… is only just in the very inside of the anus, no rash, no nastys !

Have you tried talcum powder to dry the area up some, Tabby? It is what I used and seemed to help me quite a biit.
Others on the board have used a blow drier to dry the area after baths....

Tabby,
Is it only an itch or are you still in pain as well?

Kim,
That is the most frustrating thing. Everything is TRY. You would think now with modern technology and modern medicine there would be a sure fire medication or a better percentage surgery process.

All medicine is "practice."

Are most fissures caused by constipation?

Melissa,
My humble opinion is that fissures can be caused by either being too loose OR being constipated. It is both extremes of BM's that cause trouble. My 83 year old mother got hers 45 years ago from diarrhea. (she had her fissure removed).

I know that someone posted a thread for an ointment that might be helpful for itching, but I cannot find it. That is why I made a request for it to be posted again. I learned my lesson--in the future write references down on paper!!
