I have what I believe is scar tissue that remains after LIS and fissurectomy inside my rectum. It can be felt as a long ridged line when I put my finger up there and when inflamed really hurts bad.

I keep having episodes of debilitating rectal pain every now and again and think it’s the scar tissue getting angry, my question is: Does anyone experience this kind of thing and what can be done about the scar tissue if anything

Sorry I can’t answer your question, however this is exactly why I’m afraid to go through with the surgery!
When I’d be healing from my fissure, sometimes that’s exactly what I’d feel… I’d insert Vaseline before I have my BM and I’d feel something ridged and I never knew if it was the cut or the “scab” etc. there would still be pain but eventually I’d either keep getting better, or re tear and have blood. How long ago did you have the surgery?

Generally massage of scar tissue is recommended in order to calm the nerves down. But this should be approached in a very gentle manner so as not to aggravate it further. A pelvic floor physical therapist may be able to help you out.
