well i had anoscopes in my butt in my 20s and they didn't cause fissures back then.
so they don't necessarily cause tears but then again, i didn't have fissures back then.
it takes a certain je ne sais quoi, sensitive touch to lube you up and put that anoscope in gently and let it do its thing.
but typically a CRS won't do an anoscope exam if you are suffering from a fissure and one that is visible.
i thought when they did botox, they would use an anoscope to help inject certain areas?

I am going to ask if they use an anoscope for Botox, but I don't think they do. Hopefully, I will get healed by my ointment. Personally, I think a smaller, flexible instrument would be an improvement over using an anoscope. Cheryl

I agree ! For god's sake - they did not improve anything for the past 50 years !!! The only "innovation" is appearance of "disposable plastic ones . Like they can not have small tiny tubes with the light and camera on the tip !!!!!!!! Even dentists now use those so patients can see their mouth on the screen above !
AND - we are talking here about 100 x bigger opening ! Just ridiculous! Finger is main "instrument" and that plastic huge tube if you are lucky - if not metal prongs are pushed in to crack you open so the butt can "see the daylight" . Welcome to the world of the barbarians :flush:
I propose that any CRS has an anoscpy daily until one find a better way

I particularly like your person emerging from the toilet!! I hope that you are feeling better.
All of the CRS docs no doubt have no rectal problems and probably no probs with their BM's. They probably all "go" like clockwork and therefore cannot empathize with their patients.

my CRS i am sure was a ham in his young age and he doesn't look bad even today but he is a jolly big man and i am sure he must have some challenging turds at one time or another.....

ha ha ha, one of mine CRSs uses fiber in every possible beverage!!
She puts it even in the coffee !!! She said that after seeing what can happen to one's butt she is scared to death of that and is doing everything possible not to develop any anorectal problems.
