Question about sentinel skin tags

Postby Guest » 18 Jun 2008, 03:23

Hi everyone
Sorry I haven't been online for a while - I had the chaos of university final exams and now they're all finally over!
I had a question about sentinel skin tags. I think in terms of fissure I'm still doing okay, but the last few days the skin tag has been rather sore - Not very enjoyable at all! I was just wondering if this is common and if there are any ways that anyone knows of of treating them? My CRS said he'd operate and take it off when I saw him a few months ago, but this seems rather a drastic measure at the moment to me - it's not that bad!

my CRS advised to leave mine alone. that it would be more traumatic to heal it after removal.
anyway, if your fissure is gone and there are no other openings around in your anus, try using VICKS Vapor Rub for soothing and quick relief - this is what I use whenever my little pile acts up and I get going on my day.
also when your pile gets irritated it may mean there was a bit more of a strain than what you would have wanted to use - whether it is from farting or taking a crap. so just keep mindful of the elimination strain.

If it isn't bad I wouldn't mess with it. You'll know when/if it is time to remove it. I used aloe vera oil on mine and it went down considerably.

Thank you for all the advice - I'll give the aloe vera a go and fingers crossed! It's been bleeding today - not heavily- just a little - is this normal? Sometimes I wonder what else my bum will do!

I think all of us have had intermittent bleeding from time to time. Just keep an eye on it and if it persists get it checked out. Try to keep your stools soft and not scratchy and now that you have more time get some sitzbaths in!

Congrats on finishing up your finals!

I hear that those things shrink over time, so I wouldn't mess with it unless it bothered me.

i actually prefer it to bust open and then it returns to a very anorexic size tag!
for me although the aloe vera may help just a little bit, it didn't quite have a long lasting relief effect like my Vapor Rub - however, only use Vapor Rub when the tag hasn't ruptured.
the aloe vera is good for keep it moisturized and just to give the skin something natural for healing - especially if you have your little aloe plant leaf in the fridge overnight.
