Good Morning All-

I need your help!! I'm having terrible internal itching and am assuming it is an internal hemorrhoid. Does anyone have any suggestions what to use to stop it? Do you think Preparation H suppositories would help?

canesten (clotrimidazole) is good for that horrible itching but I suppose a lot depends on the reason its itching. Have you tried a medicated talc?

I actually spoke to my CRS and told me to get Lotrimine AF (the stuff for athlete's foot)?? I'm trusting he knows what he's talking about.

I think the itching can almost be as bad as pain sometimes!

I used to use a steroid suppository from my doctor for my hemmies. However, this cream is not good for fissures. It is a win-loose situation. Have you been diagnosed with hemmies? Are you sure that is where the itching is coming from?

the stuff for athletes foot has the same ingredients as the canesten, they both treat yeast infections, but as the canesten is for "lady areas!!!" I think those bits are closer to it than my feet!

I know I have internal hemorrhoids and had an external one last week. The internal ones have never bothered me before and the external ones eventually go away. However, without seeing the doctor I can't be sure that's what it is. If it's not a hemorrhoid, what the heck else would it be?? I went 2 weeks ago and he said he did not see the fissure anymore?!

If it's not one thing, it's another - can't we all just catch a break sometime?

I would try a dose of both cortizone and anti-fungal. see what works. usually, If I have irritation, a small dollop of cortizone will take care of the issue. But that might just be me.
