Thanks, Jo. You are so sweet to think of me. I was in the hospital this week for suspected appendicitis but it turned out to be gastroenteritis and possible ovarian cyst or endometriosis. I am going back to Wake Forest on Monday to meet with my doctor and get a referral to a gyn. There is a possibiity that some of my pain might be from adhesions from abdominal and rectal surgery I have had. But that takes more surgery to find out. I am back in SC for the moment but my kids are in Colorado and I need to fly back and be with them (I miss them so much) since my husband has to start traveling again.

I am not sure what the next step will be. I guess not much can be done this week because I need to get back to my kids. They are 10 and 5 and just too young (IMO) to be away from mom for too long though they are in good hands with the grandparents. But I need to get better too so I don't know what to do.

I am starting to get over the infection but am wiped out from vomiting and diarrhea but I still have the same pain in my lower right pelvis where I had the hernia surgery last year.

I wanted to share this youtube video with you guys. It has really helped me this week. I like when he says, we have a choice: we can be a tigger or an eeyore in life and I choose to be a tigger.

How are you doing? I am so behind on the board-I feel like I have lost touch with you of you. But I am thinking about you all! Image
Please watch if you have a chance. It can really change your life.

Dear Lecia,
I am sorry :( to hear you are still suffering. I hope you get answers soon, how frustrating. It is very hard to be away from your kids. Wow, you have been through a lot! I know I had some problems with adhesions from abdominal surgery. Last summer I had a 17 cm cyst removed which was attached to my last ovary. I have also had endometriosis years ago and my first ovary removed at that time. Both situations can be painful but can be fixed.

You will be in my prayers for healing and strength and direction for what to do next.
I have seen parts of this video before and also have his book on CD. It is great, I will try to watch it again very soon.
I am doing pretty good. Thanks.

Take care,

Dear Lecia
I have missed you and sensed something was not quite right, I am so sorry you have been so poorly, no wonder you are burnt out…
I am sorry you cannot be with your babys , but you do need to be well again to fly back the way , you cannot help being unwell and as you have said they have great grandparents the girls will enjoy being spoilt rotten I am sure, I know this doesn’t make it any easier…
Gastroenteritis is nasty , this really is the last thing you needed!
Sending you lots of healing vibes, praying you have some answers soon.
Please take good care of yourself Image

Thanks so much for sharing your experience, Jo. It sounds like you have been through a lot in that area! Do you still have the other ovary and uterus? How is your scar doing? I didn't realize that Randy had a book out. I am so behind-I just heard about this lecture yesterday!!!

Tab-thanks, honey! I missed you too and hated not being able to get to the board earlier to see how your appt went. I may be spending the night at Wake Forest so could be away a few days but hope to be back soon and check on you guys!

:helloi: Lecia,
I had my first ovary out about 20 years ago for endo. Wow, that makes me feel old. Then about 13 years ago I had my uterus out for very large fibroids and anemia. Thought I should keep my ovary cause I was still young. Last summer I had my last ovary out for the large cyst, so now I am doing estrogen patches, cause it was too hard to adjust without estrogen. Thankfully it was not cancer, it was a scary thing to go through.
I had steroid injections last week by a plastic surgeon. Everything went well but he said I may need to do it 3 to 10 times every 4-6 weeks. Not sure if I should or not because it seemed to give me heart palpitations. Definitely do not want to have a scar revision again, cause I don't think it will work anyway. I am still waiting to see if the steroid shrinks the scar.
I saw a news show several months ago, on ABC I think, about Randy and it was very inspiring. I went out and bought his book then.
I am hoping that you are feeling better and the Gastroenteritis is not going to be keeping you from flying too long. Did you feel ill when you flew home? Hoping you had a nice visit in CO and you were feeling better there. Let us know know how you are doing, will definitely be saying some extra prayers for you...

Thanks Jen, Jo and Cheryl!

I don't know when I will fly back to CO to be with the kids. It kind of depends on what the doctor says tomorrow and if I can get in to see a gyn while I am there. I have my bag packed in case I need to stay overnight. I know my kids can get along with out me and are having a blast but it is hard when you hear they are missing you and you want to move heaven and earth to make them happy.

Jo-I would think that the steroids could cause palpatations-it is pretty strong stuff. Does it last for a long time? You must have one heck of a scar for the doc to have to inject so much stuff into it. My goodness. I hope it will calm down and stop irritating you though. I think I told you that when I had my nephrectomy I had to wear a maxi pad over the incision because it was so sore and I couldn't have anything rub against it. It didn't form a keloid but after 16 years it is hard to miss!

How have you adjusted with the patches? Do you feel better in general without the equipment down there that was giving you so much pain?
