Val,
Does flaxoil come in tablet form or it is a liquid?

Both actually. I put some in oil form on my stirfry and also take 2 in capsule form.

Val - thanks for the tip on the flaxoil prior to surgery! I take it everyday and I did not know you could not have it before surgery. I take flax seed and I want to try a mag supplement. It is on my to do list!

I have been taking MOM lately because I want things extra soft as I had that setback a few weeks ago. I am just a little uneasy because my doctor told me not to use it everyday. I think I will be fine. It seems some docs say it is ok to take on a daily basis - as so many of the members here do as well! :D

Does flaxoil result in looser stools? Is that the purpose of taking it???

Cheryl - I take it because it has fiber in it and so many essential fatty acids. I have felt better since starting to take it. I also have been really regular. I put 2 tablespoons in my cereal in the morning.

Jen - regarding MOM, i've been taking it everyday for 9 months now but my new dr told me to wean myself off it. He's strongly against using anything everyday. My other drs said it was fine. I'm not sure who to trust on that aspect...sometimes you've just gotta do whatever makes you comfortable. Lately i've been taking a teaspoon of benefiber and have cut back my MOM everyday to 1/2 tablespoon. I'm having formed BMs for the first time in months. it's painful sometimes, but still soft enough that i don't feel that awful ripping sensation... i still love MOM though, especially when you eat too much or too unhealthy one day

I think it would all be better if we didn't have to take MOM or Miralax and could regulate our bowels naturally with fiber supplements and/or flaxseed oil or other more natural methods. But I am biased because I am hoping to get off of this Miralax eventually. On the positive side, I think the Miralax and MOM are a lot less harmful than the stimulant laxatives like senna. I act like I am an expert, and I'm not!! But if I had been doing some of the things I am now doing, my situation would no doubt be a whole lot better, but we learn as we go along, I guess.

I think ideally it would be better not to have to take meds but you have to balance that out with the debilitation that comes with reinjuring your bottom.

I took some ultram and that is helping some. I am back on Eastern standard time. I can pray anywhere from 9-11 pm easier once the girls are in bed!
