Well, shoot! What about flexeril or soma or Sklexan? Those are three different muscle relaxants that might ease the tension? Also the fentanyl patch is different than the morphine patch so maybe that would be worth a go.

Are you still taking the neurontin too? I would ask about celebrex or bextra or vioxx if they are available in the UK. That might help to get some of the inflammation down and help with pain.

I wish you could find something that would make you comfortable. I think if they cannot get you comfortable then they should admit you so they can figure out what works. Maybe an epidural to help knock the pain out?

Val.. Hope you feel better soon. Celebrex has really worked great for me for any pains for which I would have taken Motrin. Here in US the insurance company gives a hard time if the Dr prescribes Celebrex.

I shall write down all those tablets and ask the specialist tomorrow! My doctor isnt much good! I'm not on the gabapentin any more because it caused constipation, he gave me amitryptiline and keeps upping the dosage! My patch was a fentanyl patch but the doctor told me it was morphine because he asked whether I wanted the patch or oramorph, which was apparently morphine in tablet form - they must be crazy here in the UK!

P.S. sorry for hi-jacking the thread!

Not to scare you, Val, but I think some folks in the US had very bad results from a pain patch, but it might not have been the same one you used. My stepfather had a very bad result from a pain patch. Maybe he can give you something else to take!!

Oh dear Val Image Image - it is just dreadful - I can't wait for tomorrow and you seeing the specialist Image !!! This is just crazy Image :( :( :( !
If you are sensitive to Ibuprofen, you might be sensitive to Celebrex too - it caused same stomach upset for me : (. The only anti inflammatory that I can take is Nabumetone(Relafen) and Daypro. Don't forget to ask for steroid injections ( I hope you found my post for you yesterday) and don't leave the office without MRI app. the same day or for tomorrow for your spine !!! NOW you are truly emergency here :( and if they do not do that for you - well I don't now what name to call them Image Image Image !!!
Hope they will rid you of the pain very VERY soon :( and that you will be able to have your CRS app. next monday :( !
Best of luck buddy tomorrow - lest as know how it went ASAP Image
