ooh you're so lucky jen! i love hawaii! i went last year with a fissure (in between my 2 surgeries) and still had an amazing time. My pic is from the condo we stayed at in Maui. Just take all your supplements and baby your butt as much as you can in between snorkeling, surfing, hula dancing or whatever you do there. LOL. I'm jealous!!

Jen,
I am going to try Benefiber, but I have to buy it first. Don't know about the wheat ingredients. You will love Hawaii. I'll be with you in spirit. We went to Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island. I loved all of it and would like to go back again.

Thanks everyone! I can't wait to post my romantic beach photo - I am glad my son is too young and won't think mommy and daddy are "gross" for kissing pasionately on the beach!
Cheryl - Let us know how the benefiber works! I am going to go back on the metamucil for a few days for a comparison soon.

Jen,
I wouldn't rock the boat, but I guess you know best. I plan to buy the benefiber today. It is good for kids to see their parents being affectionate--gives them confidence! Be sure to see the Polynesian Center if you have time in Hawaii. Very interesting. I liked everything except Oahu was kind of crowded with lots of aggressive people. You'll find out!!

Please come and give us some information regarding your healing process. Do you feel totally healed already? Can you still feel your fissure during BMs? I have had a minor setback, but I hope I will still heal in next months. I guess you are feeling much better as you have not written lately.

Hey Cindy!
Thanks for asking! How are you doing? Sorry I have been MIA - I am so busy with school.
My healing has been good. The Benefiber has been a miracle to me and I still have yet to do my comparisons with the Metamucil and Benefiber. This week, I had a small issue - despite my perfect diet & water consumption, I did have a large hard stool. I thought it was going to tare me, but there was no blood. It did not hurt, this BM was just hard to get out. Anyways, I looked at my butt and it appeared fine - no retare, however, a couple hours later I looked again, just to make sure, a there was a drop of blood down there. The blood did not come from my old fissure because it was closed. I have no idea where it came from. I am not even worried about it because I think "normal" people have blood from time to time with difficult BM's. My hubby said he just did yesterday. As long as there is no pain, I think it is normal from time to time. So, I am not calling the incident a setback - just a reminder that things are fragile down there and always will be. I mean, if I would have never took a mirror and looked, I would not have known about the blood and normal people don't look at their butts!
I did have a cheeseburger the night before the hard BM. I RARELY eat read meat, and I think that is what caused it. I am almost 95% I am going to try to be a vegetarian, just for my health. It won't be hard for me to do because that is my usual diet anyway. Lecia - what do you do when you make dinner for your family? Do you make them meat and then just eat veggies yourself? That is the only thing I am worried about - my hubby needs meat & potatoes! :)
