I agree with you Lars, I always have more fissure pain/problem when I go more than once a day. But, this isn't always something we can control....I think our digesion has a life on its own :)

for the past few days i cut my vitamin c down to 500mg and i've only gone once. that might've been the culprit. i totally agree with everyone that constipation is worse! i've gotten good consistency so i don't want to cut out any softeners yet. i take 2 docusate sodium softeners. 100mg each. but like lars said, how can something heal when poo is constantly passing the wound. i've never understood that...

I guess, if it passes without putting pressure or stretching it all too much - it heals . It obviously can since it happens for vast majority of people every day Image . I am determined to keep my poop fluffy for long time this time around , even if that means going 3 times, so be it LOL .

I think the Miralax causes larger stools and increased frequency. I tried the Benefiber for the first time this morning, instead of the Metamucil. It is a beautiful day in the Midwest!! I feel like I have put on weight and I am happy about it. My pants/slacks were snugger the last couple of days. My son and I have been watching Braveheart. I like learning about the other countries.

well, for my 5 1/2 week update, I guess I'm feeling ok lately. Not so depressed or panicky as I was in the first few weeks. The wound is pretty much closed up and amazingly the skin tag has already shrunk to almost non-existent! I'm really happy about that because I did not want the dr to remove it in the office! :) There's still a small area which hasn't closed up, that's probably what's causing the burning during and after BM. I'm hoping that'll close soon. I still take 3 baths a day and use A&D ointment and neosporin.
The only upsetting thing lately is that i still have that same pain when I stand up after sitting. It doesn't seem as bad as it used to, but I'm still taking ibuprofen every morning and sometimes in the afternoon too. I'm hoping it's just residual surgery pain because of all that was done in there and that it'll subside within a few more weeks/months as everything settles back to normal. I just keep telling myself the dr said it's normal for scar tissue to cause pain even when things are going right. plus there's been so much trauma down there and constant pain for 2 years, so i can't expect it to just disappear overnight....
I'm just staying positive and still just focusing all my energy on healing. Every week i've noticed a difference so i'm hoping that trend continues. :D

I think that is the key, maybe? After so many surgeries and particularly healing from this current one, things are just not like they once were down there. Your body is readjusting to it's surgically induced new configuration.
I had odd pains and twinges for about a month after my surgery. Weird sharp pains that would just come out of nowhere and then fade away. I can see how the scar tissue would irritate and aggravate the nerves down there. Just steel yourself for the ride and eventually it will all settle in. My fingers are crossed, Juney!

i had my 6 week appt today and my worst nightmare has been confirmed. i'm not healing right. the outside is all healed up, still pretty swollen with lots of sensitive scar tissue. but the inside is still inflamed and bloody. it's not healing on the inside. even the dr was confused why it hasn't healed yet. he wants me to use the Recta-gel that i tried back in July, twice a day for 2 weeks. then he will try applying a chemical to the wound inside, i'm assuming he's talking about silver nitrate.
i'm so unbelievably miserable right now. i knew the pain was bad and the same as i've always been used to but i just didn't want to believe that the surgery didn't work. i'm at the end of my line. i mean what do you do when you've had 3 surgeries and none of them work?! i don't know what my other options are. i cannot deal with this anymore. i'm out of positive thoughts and hope.
