To be honest, I have no idea. I hope that you didn't have long fingernails or anything, while you were doing that. I think Hemmies are more caused from stress and strain than anything, so as long as you were careful, I don't see why it would have. To be sure, check with your Colorectal surgeon or your Primary care doctor. I'm sure the folks here could give you some ideas too.

I doubt the nifedipine caused the hemmie. Hemmies and fissures usually come in pairs with some people - including myself. They are both caused by the same things - hard stools & straining.
I read somewhere once that nifedipine, LIS, ect actually helps hemmies because the put less pressure on the area. I wish I could find out where I read that. Buttgirl read it too as I remember. I will post it if I can find it.

Yes, I have read that too in numerous places. Nefidipine helps to move blood in and out of the area. A hemorrhoid is stagnant blood that has clotted so nefidipine is actually beneficial in this case. There are journal articles where they studied this but I don't have the references.

Unless you are rough with the finger, the nefedipine can only do fissures and hemorrhoids good....
Try a finger cot, BTW!!
