had a banana

Postby Guest » 27 Jun 2007, 16:26

:(
so I had the biggest set back in over 6-8 weeks. I got constipated and had a terrible day of sharp pains. I did take two Aleve that took the edge off.
I have had bananas a few times in the past but.....NEVER AGAIN.
So I had to cancel my appointment today with the surgeon I made. I was in too much pain.
I did finally empty myself. That is a relief. Beware of those bananas Image
I hope this set back is short so I can get a handle on the damage with healthy eating, baths and more baths and of course the meds.

I know where your coming from. the same thing just happened to me. I had to take magnesuim supplements and gatorade to get my poos bakc to the soft normal. that took one week. I am expereinceing the type of pain I felt about 1 mo. ago. Talk about setbacks.

I'm sure we'll both get better soon though.

Here's to No more bananas and plenty of gatorade.

Yeah, for some people those bananas can be very hard to pass. My kids could never eat them or they would be in so much pain trying to go to the bathroom.
Did you reschedule your appointment?
Take care!

bananas used to be one of my favorite fruits. but I've given it up after having the fissure.
makes me wonder what changed in my physiology over the years. i used to eat losts of bananas before without any problem.

That is a good warning!!! In a way I feel that some of our setbacks are blessings in disguise because we learn to avoid things that can cause problems, and that can even help other people suffering from fissures. I'm sure you'll be back on track in no time, just keep taking your baths and eating well!
