cheryl - thanks for the warning, luckily this seems safer than something from malaysia (no offense to any malaysians. lol) it's mentioned on a lot of colorectal clinic websites so it seems like legitimate drs recommend it. i'd definitely be scared of putting some random ointment on my butt after everything it's been through. this is just a stick you freeze and insert in the anal canal for a few min every day.
lecia - my last surgeon was a DO. he helped in getting me off the laxatives everyday. i haven't taken any supplements at all in the past week. (benefiber actually seems to make things runnier and more burning so i stopped that).
i'm not sure if the gyn probls are related, it seems like a pretty strong coincidence that's for sure. it all started around the same time, with the heavy bleeding and ripping the fissure. since i had the fibroids removed i haven't been bleeding bad from the periods though thank god.
how do you suggest finding a legitimate holistic dr? should i just google one in my area? i live in the san diego, CA area.

Juney,
What types of laxatives were you taking?? There is a Mayo clinic in AZ, but hopefully, you can find some help closer to where you live!! Good luck!!

http://www.howtodothings.com/health-and-fitness/a3291-how-to-find-qualified-holistic-medicine-providers-and-holistic-doctors.htmlI think word of mouth is always best but what if you don't know anyone that has used one?

I found this website that has some tips about finding a qualified holistic doctor. The link is above!

cheryl - just encouragement i guess...telling me it's not good to be using a laxative everyday. he just urged me to try fiber instead. i also started thinking the liquid BMs everyday couldn't be helping, probably causing burning and making the area more sensitive.
thanks for the link lecia. i'll keep you posted once i get the anurex and start using it.

Juney,
I'm hoping to be able to significantly reduce or stop my Miralax after taking the pelvic floor retraining at Mayos. Do you think the A/D is helping you?

vitamin a&D? no i don't think it's helping. i've been using it consistently for 5 months since my last surgery so maybe it's helped the outside ( the dr says externally it's very healthy) but definitely hasn't helped any inflammation inside. in fact sometimes when i apply it inside hoping it will help, it burns really bad.

No, I meant an anti-depressant. I thought you were on one of those.
