Hey NG i've seen pics of rectal prolapse and read up about it quite a lot since I learned that it could happen with straining during BM etc, depending on how severe the prolapse is, sometimes you can manually push the rectum back into place Image definitely not a nice experience I would imagine, a total rectal prolapse requires surgery Image

Yeah Steve that's how I ended up stumbling on pics of it. I was searching around for the various possible things that could happen with straining while pooping and one of them was rectal prolapse. Supposedly a lot of people that get the condition have had a lifetime of chronic constipation and forced bowel movements. Almost sounds like similar risk factors for a fissure. Score another point for veggie soup over deep fried goodies I guess.

Definitely one for the veggie soup!
The thing is, i'm probably at risk of prolapse, it's a wonder I haven't shoved my rectum out before now, when I think about it, i've had years of constipation and straining that's why i'm where I am now..

Haha you and I both. The next time I have a painful bloody poop I'm just going to try to be thankful my rectum hasn't prolapsed Image

Me too, I don't relish the thought of having to get the mirror and see my rectum hanging out and then try to push it back inside Image
