day 10 and pressure???

Postby New mum » 25 Nov 2010, 03:14

Over all I feel pretty good, I keep telling my self to take other members advice on counting weeks not days because some days I feel nothing others like today I feel sooo much pressure which I am not sure what it is? Did anyone else feel this, I felt this pressure on the first few days but tonite I seem to have so much. I wonder if the swelling can just come and go I guess thats what it is.
I also keep telling myself I am only 10days out and if pressure is the only thing that is really worrying me thats good right???
How did everyone feel around day 10?

I felt swelling for quite some time. I didn't pick up anything or do too much at all the first two weeks. I basically laid around and was taken care of , then the weekend of week two- I went shopping, but no lifting. I think the pressure is probably the swelling -for sure.

I'd like to add new mum , it would make sense that the pressure is less in the early morning when you have been off your feet and laying down all night, AND more pressure at the end of the day is probably because you are up and moving around more. Just like it your ankle was swollen and you stay off of it and it becomes less....
Also if you have to lift the baby a lot during the day, it will increase the pressure on your bottom. I'm just now lifting my chunky little grandbaby at 6 weeks into my recovery. I know that it has to be really hard when you need to take care of the baby, but I would imagine the lifting is going to cause you more swelling or pressure on the bottom.

Your welcome New mum. It's kind of hard to remember exactly when the pressure stopped for me. I had my surgery on the 19th and on the 31st we took my little one out for Halloween and I do remember having some swelling and pressure because I had did quite a few things that day. That was 12 days post op. I believe by the third week I didn't have any more problems with that.
Just try and lay down and relax as much as you can and stay off your feet. There's a lot of swelling going on down there...I remember looking at my butt in the mirror while drying off after a bath and seeing some bruising...I wasn't even trying to see anything because I'm squeamish...I haven't even looked at my self down there since surgery, but I was thinking if the bruising was that bad 3 weeks later and I wasn't even looking at the anus that the inside must have been pretty swollen and still healing too.
Ten days is still pretty early, but things changed really fast for me. Like I said before week by week things just kept getting better.

I had massive bruising around the anus which lasted for well over a month, so God knows what it was like on the inside, the pressure is from the swelling in the rectum and can be quite uncomfortable and you feel the need to poop all the time but can't, it's really nothing to worry about and will calm down in time, I found regular bathing (3-4 times a day) helped a lot.
Even now at almost 4 months post-op I still get discomfort and sometimes pressure all depending on what I eat, I put this down to a variety of foods I now eat.

New mum, just wondering how you're doing?
Also, did your doctor tell you how long you'd have to be on stool softeners? I'm wondering if this is for life. Ugh.
-Hoping you're doing well!

Hey cagirl,
I am feeling bettter last few days I have been taken it easy I now sit on my butt a bit. I only took stool softeners for 2 days after the lis, I dont need them I think I drink so much water and fibre sups twice a day and thats all I need.
