Glad to hear it's over with for you!
Take it easy and take good care of yourself, and Call if you are squeamish at all -then don't look at the work for awhile. I just let my husband take a look at mine daily to be sure there weren't any unusual changes that would indicate infection.
Best wishes to you on minimal pain and a quick recovery:)

Good morning, post-surgery day!!! Holy cow!!!! So the discomfort has increased, bordering on pain. I've taken my buffet of pills and my sitzt bath, and you know what scared me the worst? Flatulence. I figure there's not much to be embarrassed about here, but let me tell you, the first time you have it, it sneaks up on you completely!! It scared me because I had no clue what was coming out!!! Wow. Weird.
As for the wound site, it feels a little less swollen this morning, which I suppose is good. I'm still afraid to look, so I continue to have my hubby look. The one thing I am trying not to get worked up about is the discharge and control issues. There is definitely some discharge, at times a lot, and I feel it, but I have no control. Is that normal? I'm assuming for now it is. If in a week it's still like this I'll worry.
Thanks again for all the help. I truly appreciate this forum helping me through this tough time!!!

I am a week post-op and I still have discharge. To be honest though, it has actually already started improving a bit since the beginning. It was an all day thing, but it has already started to be a mostly after bms thing, much more manageable now than before. It can be really irritating though!
Good Luck! Stay off your butt and don't walk around too much either. I didn't listen and really paid for it for a few days! Don't be like me!

Thanks for sharing Elizabeth. I still haven't had a BM yet, but did have a watery stool this morning. So, I'm not sure if that's good or bad. I've been taking the stool softener and drinking the fiber drinks, as well as eating fresh fruits, but I'm wondering if I'm over doing it. I think tonight's dinner will be chicken and rice to see if I can get something more firm.
I'm also having some issues with pain and spasms. The valliums don't seem to do much at this point, but I also might be thinking too much into it. I'm scared about my first BM, but I'm also nervous about when it will come. I don't want to have to take something that will force it.
I'm going to see how today goes and hopefully everything will start falling into place.
Btw, being an active person, this bed rest nonsense is driving me NUTS.
Thanks again!

Just wishing you the best Call.
I had straight LIS and did fine. Never any pain with bm, even the first one, except for a few days ago and I'm 5 weeks post op.

Not much of an update here. The pain is getting worse and I still haven't had a BM. I cannot image what that is going to be like. I plan on keeping vallium in my system all day to calm me down just in case. I'm starting to wonder if all of this is worth it. The last 24 hours of my life have revolved around pain and waiting for pain pills to kick in. I was certain this morning, given the pain, that I had ripped some stitches.
Sorry for the negative post. Hopefully I'll have positive news to post soon.
