Prune Juice

Postby edward_adams » 08 Aug 2007, 09:25

So in my worries of stoping colace I started drinking prune juice. Well, I think I over compensated.
My advise to people looking to drink prune juice, don't drink alot of it right away!I'm currently paying for a taking a large class. yikes.
Probably should of read the info BEFORE drinking. D'oh!

Hello
Why did you stop colace? I have been taking it for a few weeks. I hear yah on the prune juice. A small juice glass works for me.

Doc wanted me to stop after a week, so I do what I'm told.
However, I'm crazy worried about hard stools, so I've been trying and combining other "softerners", Aloe Vera, Flax Oil and Prunce Juice.
Yeah, I'm going to try a smaller glass tomorrow. I went right through me.

if you can, ween yourself off the colace and find more natural ways of making your stool softer. that's great edward that you are dabbling with the aloe vera juice, flax oil, and prune juice. don't forget your omega 3-6-9 too!

I agree with both Patty and Gareth...while natural methods are best, I wonder why your doctor would have you stop the colace. I took it for months!!! No problem...

Has anyone else drinking prune juice?
I think it's doing crazy things inside my stomach. Not terrible or anything, just weird.
Gareth- how do you get your 3-6-9?

It's almost comical has quick it's going throgh me.
I think I may back off and stick with the Aloe and flax seed.
I'm on vacation this week so I've been ok. I couldn't imagine my hour commute after a drink.

Hie, I have been taking prunes (but not the juice though) abt 8-9pieces a day. Prunes are actually a form of laxatives and it has high fiber content. Maybe that's why it makes the stomach feels weird. It gives the gassy and bloaty feeling if your stomach is not used to the high-fiber content.
